Thoughts on gamettes

With no ideas of pretention that these ideas will be used, I was thinking of what types of gamettes I'd like to see. Of course, there's nothing stopping me trying to develop them myself!

Anyway, a couple of ideas.

1. Vietnam - Rescue a POW. A search game on a grid in some jungle, led by Lt. Ronnie Jambo using the figure in the character pack.

2. High Noon - classic Old West shoot up with 1 good guy wearing a white hat and 5 bad guys in black hats.

3. Get me to the church! - Your AK47 Warlord is getting married, but getting to church is a dangerous business as it means driving your Toyota through enemy territory.

Any other ideas?

Saving the family piano. Can you get your musically talented Belgian from one end of the table to the other with his piano in handcart or on wagon, lorry? Set in 1914 it could feature pursuing uhlans; 1940 could be pusuing motorcycles and sidecars. Of course a squad of Allied soldiers (French, Belgian or British) should be on hand to assist.

Smoking gun

All good ideas. Here's a couple of mine:
1) A group of partisans attempt to recover air dropped supplies when a small patrol of security troops arrive and try to prevent them escaping with the supplies. (Could be Sci Fi as well as WW2.)
2)  WW2 "Ice Road Trucker" As a driver of a truck on the "Road of Life" across Lake Ladoga you have to deliver your vital supplies to Leningrad.

Best wishes,

Sean, I think your Vietnam one is already in the rulebook.

Close - it's downed airmen, but a very similar theme. The main difference is that the MOCB scenario is a full table and forces for both sides, as opposed to a smaller gamette with far fewer figures.

WW2. Partisans try to ambush the commander of the local occupying forces, or enemy paras or commandos try to kidnap or kill the PM (the Eagle has Landed).

I seem to remember a variant of PBI where you had a band of Partizans trying to move across a standard PBI table without being discovered. Anyone remember it?

Sean you will be able to start another blog, The Joy of 15mm The One True Scale for gaming.

Home Guard v downed pilots or U Boat crew?

If you are considering some gamette scenarios for MexRev, I read that Villa turned his hand to cattle rustling to pay for arms shipments. Intercepting a covert cross border arms shipment might be worthwhile playing out as a scenario.
I'm also considering a punitive amphib raid on the Sonoran coast by Federal forces and a Naval landing force.
In 1913 General Obregon used a Curtiss Gold flyer named 'Sonora' for recon and also to drop bombs on 5 Federal coastal vessels ;D
All are on my gaming radar for the near distant future...but mine will be using (coughs awkwardly) ToTW rules... :-[

That's a great idea to use some existing figures that may not get out much!
