It's been a while since I  painted some Germans in greatcoats so thought I'd go with them. Forward HQ and Comms Relay team for Battlegroup primed.

Are you going to add the aerial on the back pack radio? See here for details: https://pbeyecandy.wordpress.com

Thanks for reminding us of your great work there, Martin - I remembered someone had done it but would never have found your blog again.

I have a number that similarly need the pink bristle treatment...

Sean Clark

Simon, that's Phil Steeles blog. It's been a great resource over the years.

I don't usually add aerials but coincidentally I did see that blog post recently so may give it a go if I can find my spool of wire.

As Sean said not my work. I don't think my work has ever been described as great. ;)

Ah, sorry Martin (and to Phil Steele!).

Finding good references is also "great work" Martin  :D

Simon

Sean Clark

Agreed.

Martin B... We're you not part of a group that played and promoted the original AK47 around 20 or so years ago? I seem to remember a very good article in WI.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but that was great work 😁

Sean, you're right thank you, two friends from Grimsby and I did a participation game which we took to some midland shows. I also penned an article for Wargames Illustrated which was on the front cover. It was the first PP / RFCM game I played and I was very impressed with the quality of the miniatures which were my first 15mm purchases.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

I usually use 0.45mm brass rod for my Aerials as on the example command group I posted on the QandA pages.

Gave it a go this evening. Fairly simple job in the end though did worry the 0.6mm drill bit might snap at some point.

Colonel Kilgore

Nigel,

What did you use for your aerial?

I think it's florist wire that I picked up from Hobbycraft some time ago. Probably this one.

EDIT. Realised I actually bought it from The Works but very similar to that in the link. One of those that will be handy someday purchases.

Thanks for clarifying, Nigel.

I clearly need something special, after Phil's pink bristles and your silver wire!
