As they said above, it's taken on trust. The purpose of the group build is to encourage people to complete a project and share the results.

Guys, how do i find the Actual Group Build  thread?

Mike,
You're in it!
You create your own thread, with your build as the title, here within Group Build #1.

Oh Querido! I have started another thread....

The deadline for completed builds to receive a "Pink Piggie" has now passed.

Congratulations to those who completed their build and commiserations to those who were unable to complete theirs before today.

A big kick for me who failed to do anything in the last three weeks.

I hope you enjoyed the experience and hopefully more will participate in the next one.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

It's not the end of the month?  Can you rename this the 21 day group build?

martin goddard

I enjoyed doing the group build.
Maybe do a group build that lasts a complete calendar month and use the following month to assess, publicise, recover?
That way there would be 6 group builds per year.
12 group builds might thin out the joiners in so that it becomes peripheral?
I would struggle to do 12 in a year. But then I do want to support this great idea.

Just thoughts as this is not my baby.  It has been very good for the first cycle.

I didn't read the fine print.  I just assumed it was like a normal group build where you have the month to finish.  That will teach me.   I struggle because I work 50hrs a week and I'm still painting my normal projects with this one on the side.  Mark me down for 75% done.

Colonel Kilgore

Martin B,

How about extending the deadline to the end of June, to give you a (slim) chance to do something and allow Paul to complete his 25%? It would be a shame not to get your pink piggy badges, and you can always blame Paul for not having read the small print, after such a strong start?

I personally like Martin's idea of doing something every other month - there's a risk otherwise that main projects fall by the wayside (initially) and then people lose interest in group builds as they (later) realise they need to crack on with other things or else those long-awaited reinforcements will not make it?

Struggling with this myself as having retired from a high pressure job I'm just not really up for deadlines that don't involve travel timetables. I think I'll stick to eye candy.

Thanks for the shout out Simon but I don't want to be a rule breaker.   I'll still finish my project and post pics.

Colonel Kilgore

Hey Paul - if the rules are flexed, you won't have broken them :)

Simon

Shall we call you Morant Paul?

martin :)

It would be an honour to be associated with the Breaker.

Hi guys,
Points taken.
1) I don't want to extend the first GB any longer. Paul could benefit from an extension but has said he won't. I currently have family and domestic matters which severely limit my hobby time.

2) Date and time period for GB2 Terrain, my initial thought was a four week period in July. I wanted to avoid August as it's peak holiday time and children are off school. So it could be put back to September.

3) Timing of GB3+; October is Sean's AK47 day and November is WWW, would people want a GB when there are over live events running? December is always busy so we could be looking at 2022 before we can fit in another GB.

Please air your thoughts and I'll set up a poll or two to gather information and preferences.

Thank you for reading this far and best wishes,
Martin Buck
