Ok, took a day to do these. 4 of each.  What do you use?

Forgot.  Price. 1 bag of small lolly sticks = £1  (have 6 sticks left over yippeee)
24 x 2p coins

Total still less than a quid :)

I have the Warbases markers for MOCB and Square Bashing. Rather more expensive than yours, but somewhat less work.

Still looking for some reasonable and cheap explosion markers. Any suggestions?

Not sure I want to make them as about to start on my A-rabs

What sort of game do you want them for, Derek? Are these the PBI / Square Bashing / MOCB kind, with one biggish explosion per square?

I'm going to try the white-cushion-stuffing-sprayed-with-black-paint approach once I return to Vietnam.

Really looking at relatively modern type so WW1 onwards I suppose. 15mm sort of scale.

I have looked at a number of vids showing how to make them but running out of oommpppfff to do them. Maybe later.

The best home made explosion markers I've seen are made with several different sized nails glued to a base (could be coin) with say hot glue, nails pointing outwards and upwards in every direction, covered with small pieces of foam sponge or tree foliage and painted with black and red / orange at centre.
Some other ideas using wire etc

How have you printed the text onto the sticks?

Those explosion markers using clump foliage are very nice indeed.

Colonel Kilgore

Neil,

That's a fine set of resources - I'd seen some before but keep forgetting where! The clump foliage-on-sticks explosions are most effective. Thanks for posting.

For SB I have been using Poms-Poms from the craft shop, they come in many colours and sizes.

Itend to use red and white, they are nice and soft and do not damage the models or take up much room.

I Have Martin markers for ECW, and I have Martin (Warbases) for my SB games with the excellent 'Army Assets Dashboard' designed by Ray.

I have my own design for the Pirate Ships game, Dashboard and tokens.

Martin CWB tokens.

You're welcome. Needless to say I couldn't find the "nails based method" - it may be on a forum somewhere .
I particularly like the airbursts.

It must be age but I find myself searching for stuff all the time........I found some paint I'd packed away which I couldn't find despite a logical search. I really need to label things and bookmark sites........

Sean,    Went old school for the text. Small stencil and a biro lol.

Going to have a go at making explosions. Just back from "hobbycraft" lol

I wonder if Hobby craft are aware of how valuable they are to the wargaming hobby?

Moggy

OK, made my own. Suprisingly easy to do. These will do the job for me.

(Hmm. lost that nioce easy clicky thing to just add piccies??? is that just me?)
