I have enough for each side and a few left over. I usually use spare ships as the targets, but I may try and make some barges or similar.

I'd love a HI day... Think it would be a great idea.

I have some of each. I bought Martin's pre-packed Union and Confederates and have added a few ships since. I also have the river mat. What I lack is the extras like sand banks and islands.

John I have just used suitable coloured felt. I really ought to make something to look a bit nicer.

I used coloured felt as well. I've no plans to change that at the moment. Too many other things to do !

I would love  a Hammerin' Iron day.  Great idea. Righteous.
I suggest it would be a selection of scenarios from easy to challenging.
Different scenarios would give/yield  different victory points.

That is lovely Sean.
It is a shame that it does not allow more bright colours but the metal effect is brooding and powerful.
It would have been great if the ACW ships were in reds and blues but they missed that trick.

Did the vents go into the hull OK? I thought they might be a bit too fiddly.

A flag is a good idea. I'll dig around gor one. It will brighten it up.

The model went together very well. A blob of odourless super glue on a 2p piece, a bit of wire in an old cork and it was a breeze. I just can't remember where I saw this method before. Must have been some genius or other

A Lt of those ships had different colours on the bridge and smoke stack to signify certain class and names etc. Would introduce a wee bit of=f colour ? Possibly

Miles, I think you're right. I'll do some research. If I can find a suitable flag I'll be adding that as well.

Leman, the rust is one of those powder things. I think it went on a bit too much but I'm happy with it for a first try.

Maybe a couple of davits would improve the look too. Pictures of the original show it may have had them.

I expect this ship to become a huge seller now that I have painted it. It may even win a Golden Demon or Silver Frog or something.
