Hi guys,
As the title says really, who has which army?

Just to get a feel for what people use.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

I presume you mean SCW armies. In which case none.

I've built up a few. Regular Republican army, regular Nationalist army, Carlists, Republican Assault Guards. Started International Brigade too, but sidelined while I'm concentrating on Mex' Rev'.

I have a regular army, Carlist (they look good in their berets), Militia (so I can use armoured trucks) and Assault guard (I really like this army as they have peaked caps).

I will build a Legion force when the sculptor gets on doing enough figures to do it  :-[.

I really like the ability to combine vehicles, guns an infantry with all being important to a plan.

We did take the SCW game to a few shows but the main effect was to advertise the DRUM Spanish/Italian buildings.

Careful about making such rash statements, Martin - you know what we're all like on here!

John we had better get together for some games.

Enough figures and scenery for several armies from both sides and all the extras for two sides.

Enough scenery for a complete table.

I ve started on an International Brigade for the Republicans, using spare figures from doing my 8th Army, intermixed with some WW1 figures as well; with flags from Luis.
I want to also do a Condor Army for the Nationalists I ve got a few heavy weapons done, these will at first consist of spare figures from my DAK pile, I am also awaiting on Luis to finish off the flags for this force.
As a bit of fun, I want to convert a FoW Mk V tank into the tank from the "last Crusade" to go with the Republicans.

Internationla brigade sounds good Miles.

A "Condor" army would probably need to be either army J "Spanish foreign legion", possibly army B"Spanish Peninsular army" or army K "Moroccan Regulares".

The Germans were present with aircraft , long range artillery and "advisors" for tanks. There were no German units in the actual front/fighting line.

Hitler and Franco did not get on that well. Mainly due to Franco being a Diva by deliberately turning up late etc.
Both were worthless men, but Franco was even more self focussed.

I have a Republican army made up from the Spanish Peninsular Army list, you can mix in a number of figures that gives it a lot of variety. The 'additions' allows you to add in a lot so you can change the army make up from game to game.  I have light tanks, field guns, armoured cars can add extra mmg or lmg bases though I don't think I have any mortars for some reason. Used this army a lot around the time the rules were being written or just published. One of those games where the grid system really works.

Funnily enough I don't have any scenery as I have played most games using Martins and Stewarts. The Drum buildings mentioned by Martin are good but I think what drew a lot of comments were the excellent paint job (Julie?) and Martins conversions. If I remember  correctly the raw moulds were showing signs of age it is only once painted, converted and put on stands that they catch the eye.

Another game that needs an outing once out of lockdown.

I think that's one of the features of the period - to some degree troops, and to a greater idea the equipment, can help forces morph from one list to another.

Now you mention it, I really do want to play some SCW!

I'd like a game of anything at the moment.

Will not be working on any armies for a few months - hand and wrist have broken again!
