Hi  ;)

I started the building of a government army in order to play the "Fighting for Mexico" rule when it becomes available.

Here are the pictures of my first four bases. The sculpting of these figures is... terrific !! A real pleasure to paint them...

Next pictures when I make significant progress...  ;) :)

Anatoli, they look very fine indeed.
If you would like a play test set of the rules just e mail me and I will send you a copy.

These are great, I only hope I can do mine as much justice to the lovely sculpts that they are!

Hi...  :)

Here is the first of my 4 units, plus an artillery unit...

My whole early government army should be ready within the next 3 or 4 weeks...  ;) I already finished the basic painting and shading of the 3 other units. I still have to work on the finishing touches (lightings...).

Painting these figures is, again, a real pleasure, as the sculpting is terrific !!

Cheers,

Xavier

Nice! Even with good eyesight I don't think I'd ever be able to match that quality of painting! It's like I'm looking at 25/28mm figures. You've really made Martin's sculpting pop! Bravo!

Thank you, gentlemen...  ;)

I wanted to share something I discovered a few months ago as I was watching a Youtube video. It is a kind of Shade, made from a mix of several Citadel colours.

Here is the video :

Here is the "recipe" :
https://alystoysoldiers.blogspot.com/p/a.html

I used it for my mexican army : it works well, from my point of view. The effects on white colours are quite nice.

As you could notice on the following pictures, I used a white primer and some different white colours (picture n°1).

And the picture n°2 shows the same soldiers just after I used the Shade, after having applied all basic colours. Of course, I still have to make the finishing touches (highlights, ...).
