Les has souffléd the rules (bit of meaningless waffle there).
They will be distributed out quite soon.
Mainly presentational things.

The big shock is reducing MG range to 4 ???

Waffles and soufflés?
You spoil us, Martin!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you cook up for us all.

MG one square less that should start to balance out rifles, Mg and artillery.

Miss the play-testing.
Vaccine on Wednesday, so not too long I hope before back gaming

Personally I'm using 'Triumph of the Will' (heresy, I know) but the reduced range of MGs sounds about right to me - they were if anything too accurate at long range and in unskilled hands you could waste the whole 9 yards shooting past a target at nothing. Better to save fire to aim at grouped targets closer up. Factor in variable quality and limited ammo stocks it fits in with my ideas about both the RCW and MexRev.

"Triumph of the will" the female nazi director's film about how well the nazis were doing things.
Sounds a bit distasteful Neil?
Is it a "home brew" set you have written that shares an unfortunate co-incidence?

There is a Too Fat Lardies rule set covering the 20s and 30s that has that name.

The advertising blub kind of explains the name

"An undoubtedly revolutionary approach that captures the flavour of these desperate, violent struggles. Good to see a set of rules that don't consider this period to be just an adjunct to the First or Second World Wars "

Concentrating on the revolutionary warfare of the Spartakist Revolution, and the Russian and Spanish Civil Wars, these rules emphasize the importance of willpower amongst your troops. Small numbers of highly motivated troops will outperform hordes of disinterested conscripts in these vicious and unforgiving conflicts.

Armoured trains, the International Brigades, desperate men fighting for their version of the truth are all here in rules that capture the very crusading essence of these political conflicts.  These rules are in PDF format and downloadable immediately upon purchase."

Thank you Ian
New knowledge to me.
I am probably being too sensitive. I need to watch the wargames media more.
I assume the companion volume is "work makes you free?"

martin ???

Best not to give the Lardies ideas

Sorry, chaps, I think those last couple of comments are far more gratuitously offensive than the use of 'Triumph of the Will' as the title for a set of rules focused on that particular period of European history.

But maybe I'm the one being sensitive.

For the record I quite like the Lardies work.

Looks like we are at polar opposites Simon.
Therefore I  see no purpose in continuing this conversation.
Shall we agree not to have any discussions in the future?
I suggest we stop it right there.
This is the last post on this topic I hope.
