Hi,

I have just joined the forum and this is my first post. We have used the older version of Bloody Barons at the club (seems like a long time ago now!) and I was thinking of making some amendments for The Italian Wars. I need to paint up many more troops first!

This was put together a few years ago now but I thought it might be a nice introduction to my joining the forum. :)

More pics can be seen on my blog here:

Certainly gets my vote being a massive IW fan. Currently working on my Milanese army, then it will be back to completing my Venetians, followed by the French and then the Spanish/Papal force. Mixed bag of 15mm figures including early PP, Venexia, Mirliton, Blue Moon, Altuos and Ancient and Modern. Welcome to the Forum. Looking forward to seeing how your project develops.

Incidentally Helion Books' first volume in its Italian Wars series, Charles VIII's Invasion of Italy and the Battle of Fornovo, features heraldry at Fornovo.

Thanks you for the kind words  :)

I just took an inventory of what I have for 1495 in 28mm and well, how to put it, there is a lot!

That then lead me into what i have for Ravenna  1512 and yet again, there is rather a lot!

The problem is, and yeah, you guessed it. Barely any mini's apart from the vignette have seen a lick of paint! We shall see  ;) :)

So with all the bare metal, are you back in confinement?

I was actually pretty simple. I'm going to be doing more at some stage so I'll do a step by step on my blog- it's actually pretty simple to get the splashes and I think surprising too :)

That sounds great, Atheling - I'll be looking forward to that blog entry!

My head is still spinning about how to paint up the Swiss. I might make a start tomorrow- probably just going to go for the Canton 'colours' to start off with until I've figured something out. It would be nice to be able to reuse them in another game as well as Fornovo :)

Darrell, drop that blog entry to Martin as a Mill article. It will be most welcome. Just drilled the hands of a group of armoured pikemen from Ancient and Modern who will be recruited into my Venetian pike.
