Bit of a random question here.  Does anyone know if there is a fan made version of Warmaster Ancients that covered the ACW?

I have been bitten by the Warmaster Ancients bug again and I got to thinking about my ACW collection.  I could use the list out of Black Powder, just need the Warmaster mechanics to go with it.

Cheers

The local chaps in Bournmeouth play /played it a lot with 10mm ancients.
They really are experst on all aspects of this game.
I will ask Gareth who is a member if he knows.

Spartacus

Yes, I also used Warmaster Ancients with my old 10mm Qin Chinese. Don`t know of a fan version for ACW though.
CWB is a better set though. Cough Cough!

Would I be wrong in thinking that Black Powder has Warmaster roots? at least in relation to blunders and rolling for orders.

John Watson

Just Googled "ACW Warmaster rules" and got at least 3 different hits for rule sets. All free on the net.

I found one abandoned set called ACWarmaster.

Same sort of idea Norm but different to avoid the copyright stuff.  I do prefer the way Warmaster plays over BP and HC.

Black Powder is Warmaster with all the good bits taken out - in my opinion

There is a free variant of Warmaster called Black Powder Tactical Commander - google "black powder tactical commander"

I contacted Gareth and he got back to me pretty quick
He suggests that you might consider colours and guns??
Iain Dickie is the name on the cover.

Hi Martin ,
Did a lot of ancients in 10mm, and worked with Rick Priestley on an update and FAQ to Warhammer Ancients.
I then did a lot of work on a set of Napoleonic Rules called Colours and Guns ( where you win a game based on the amount of Guns and Stands of Colours you capture as that's how Generals ( sadly) measured their results.
It could do with a Version 2  .
It is still available from Magister Militum.
For ACW I still think Fire and Fury is brilliant at recreating the actions of that war in a simple easy to follow format.
Probably still out of print though.
