Hi All

Has anyone any experience of the 12mm miniatures packs from Kallistra. At £6.00 for packs of 32 miniatures I am interested if they look stupidly small against other figures such as the wonderful PP range.

They look quite nice and I do like a range of different companies figures mixed in for the variety.

Plus they are doing a 6 for 5 price deal at the moment. so that could be a full army for £30 plus P&P.

Yes, they are smaller than PP figures, but would be compatible with the very nice 1914 12mm range from Great Escape Games. In fact the 1914 figures might be slightly bigger than Kallistra as I have some French that work reasonably well with PP. Perhaps you may also consider QRF's 15mm WWI range. Quite useful for things like dismounted cavalry, and indeed the type of mounted cavalry not covered by PP, eg French cuirassiers, hussars etc. Similarly Minifigs, now sold through Caliver books, which do additional types of Austrian cavalry. Strangely, though, they do not do a Belgian Minerva. The only other company I know who do is the Belgian company Van Dyck  who do one for their 12mm Belgians. These however are slightly smaller but more finely detailed than Kallistra. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for that. Have 2 Armies coming already on the way. Will wait to see how they compare to PP figs and go from there. Dont want too big a difference in size.

They are nice figures Derek, but I discarded them as a project as I have loads of 15mm, most of which are really anything from 16mm to 18mm, and 10mm. In my world the Kallistra figures just didn't fit with either.
If I were starting out again though I would definitely consider them for WW1 or ACW.

I did a 10mm Qin Chinese army years ago--never used it. Altough I do have a huge 2mm ECW which I have used, It`s nice to do a 1/1 figure ratio on a really big table. You just need a few days to play it out.
