Finally found a use for those left over Napoleonic naval ships

Yep,

Simply file off the detail on the sides and fill in the top to hide what it is and there you have it...... Instant river barges. And no mucking about with awful masts/sails/

I am even going to make a raft over the tops of 2 frigates to make fire rafts.

BTW I have left over ships because I tend to buy job lots from Ebay. Some are battered or missing masts or really badly painted (even by my standards)

Some quick barges just waiting to be either towed or sunk and some (unlit) fire-rafts .

About 2 hours work. I like repurposing stuff. Gives me an excuse to give to the wife about all the odds and ends I keep from other stuff.

When I get back into doing HI. I ve got a couple of Airfix series 1 ships, including the HMS victory kit as the part of the 4 target ships, Victory being converting into a depot ship and SS Western.
