As title suggests some 2 months ago I moved all my wargames stuff to a large cellar 2 floors below where it was in the attic. Also built a new table down there----Took ages.

Last week it became too cold down there for me and the figures.

Just spent 2 days returning them all to a different room in the attic 80 journeys up 2 flights of dogleg stairs, Only dropped one drawerfull (not too much damage done)

I reckon at my age (68) I have done enough excercise for a month or 2.

I cannot move the new table I made so going to have to build a new one which is going to be nextdoor to my original one that I trashed and threw the pieces out of a small window into the yard.

Sometimes I think I should plan ahead a bit more.

Grumble done.

That does sound like hard work, Terry.

If I may make a suggestion... ... you could have saved yourself all the hard work of taking everything back upstairs to the attic by simply duplicating your entire figure and terrain collection? Then you could have a winter gaming room in the attic, and a cooler summer one in the basement :)

Oh! What a good idea Simon. ::)

Just realised I have over 1000 pieces in my ACW Union army.

I have just been sat up there for an hour or so checking them out and resting my aching legs.

Crushing logics there  ;D

I knew I was onto a winner there  ;)

I suspect that most manufacturers would give you a small discount if you bought a decade or two's worth of figures in one go too. In times of falling interest rates and possible deflation, I predict we will see a "rush to lead", as gamers seek to preserve their life savings from further economic shocks.

I just got a wooden cabin instead, job done.
(Admittedly I do have a largish or should I say did have a largish garden to set them up in)

I managed to take my 12x4 table apart yesterday and have saved the 8x4 sheet of ply (that cost me 70 euros-Bloody French prices!) I have ruined all my table edge upstands with the scenery on. so have ordered some new photo ones, Hopefully will no longer look like a backdrop for the Simpsons.

Moved my entire hobby across the North Sea - en route lost an entire unpainted army, some rule sets and a couple of good books. Fortunately have been able to recoup my losses over the last couple of months and started a 10mm Crimean collection.

Spartacus

I moved mine across the Channel.

Sort of thought to myself--Well thats my Medievil French back where they belong.

Terry the ply may be dear here but there are other compensations.

I also moved all my war-game's stuff across the channel. Lost nothing. Found lots of forgotten treasures.

Spartacus

Well, After slicing the sheet of French ply in half and sanding it to remove mastic and level out screwholes I have finally got it up the stairs to it`s new home.

Luckily as it is going to be smaller than it`s predecessor I just had to cut down the bearers.

It will be 2.5m x 1.2m, I know!!! Too big for some of you.

Just have to re-screw it together and build some supports.

I just love being retired.

And it`s up!!!

Resting on my figure drawers.

Leman (Andy)

Well done that man. Now get some figures and terrain on it and post a photo please.

Andy

Spartacus

Will do Andy.

I just have to sort through my terrain and stack it neatly under the table.

But have to watch F1 this PM.

I can see the attractions of retirement!
