Busy evening putting together more Aussie light horse troopers, great little figures but a tad fiddly putting the  torsos on the riders legs. Fingers covered in super glue time. Will spray undercoat them tomorrow, and start painting them at the weekend.

Which manufacturer's figures are you using, Dave?

Hi Simon
Have gone for Eureka  figures, good scale to match PP Turks. Have mounted, dismounted and horse holders. The mounted are two part so a little fiddly to put together based on a male/female join, but need drilling out on most torsos.

Don't forget to get yourself a Square Bashing battalion worth of Anzac camel Corp from Eureka.  Sensational.

Martin, in your copious free time shouldn't you be doing some Gallipoli Anzacs for young Mr Ward?
John

Hi Paul

I think that they could be an addition once the LH are complete.

Thank you John, no one has called me young for decades. At home Ben just calls me the old git.

Great idea John!
I will put it in the appropriate drawer.

That would be the circular filing cabinet in the corner of the sculpting studio, Martin...?

Looking at putting the three horsemen per 40x30 base and they are very clustered. Would it really matter if I used a bigger base size? I know I could drop to two per base but would prefer to stick with the three for the aesthetics.

Any views?

I guess it depends on how many of the larger bases you will need to be able to fit 3 battalions' worth into a standard 6" x 6" Square Bashing grid square?

To be off-set against the psychological advantage of lots of horsemen occupying a large frontage.

Decisions, decisions...

Dave, you stick with three to a base, they make the cavalry look very impressive.

I'll have to find some pictures for you.

martin goddard

Yes, 3 figures do get a bit crowded but do look good in my opinion.
For my Serbians I used 2 per base and they looked fine.
You could use the cavalry base sideways and out the 3 figures in a row?

Have decided to go for three to a base, but after playing around with base templates last night, decided to go for 50x30 bases which give plenty of room to fit the figures onto the bases. I know its outside the rules, but as they will probably only be played with by Ben and myself it doesn't really matter. Have added a couple of Minifigs command sets to the mix so that the standards can be shown. Now to the painting table this weekend.
