... a nice selection of different sizes and shapes of Warbase sabots for 2p pieces, to keep my Vietnam MOCB squads together and move them around more quickly [thanks Stewart for that idea]

... a whole new batch of Vallejo paints to try out on SCW figures [once I've completed my Vietnam ones...] as per the recommendations in the SCW "Painting War" book [https://rulesforcommonman.uk/smf/index.php?topic=26.0]

... both 2mm and 4mm static grass from the friendly folk at Warpainter, as well as a "lucky dip" pack of lots of different clump types [includes both grasses and flowers]

... Osprey books for both Vietnam and SCW

I'd better avoid going to any shows for a little while now...

Nice haul! Warbases are great. I use them for all of my bases now  (apart from the 2p coins. I get them from the back of the sofa.)

... a bunch of 9l Really Useful Boxes (the A4-sized, double-height ones, good for scenery storage) for just £4 each from Staples online ["web-exclusive prices" - they're usually much more than this in store]. Link here:

Staples appear to have sold out but donot say whether they will be restocking.

Colonel Kilgore

Sorry to see that. They have pink, but at the normal price of £8.99.

Probably my fault for buying up their stock  8)

They do a thinner one with compartments. You can fit a full PBI company in one...

... some LED "tealights" [flickering explosions, for the making of]. Hobbycraft [sorry - this is really for UK-based readers] have them at £2 for 4, or £3 for 8, complete with batteries:

... some swag from the Reading Warfare show to populate my Vietnam table:

The table of swag:

Most of this was from the friendly gents at Timecast [who have rather nicer photos than these on their website!].

I'd been having sporadic results with white acrylic primer [didn't stick well in certain conditions], so got these 2 cans of grey primer.

A pair of firebase mortar pits:

A couple of rendered hootches:

An artillery emplacement:

Perimeter defences [1 pack: these are a mix of 6" and 3" strips]:

Village "scatter" scenery [nominally for 10mm, but they seem none too small for 15mm] = here's one of the two identical  packs I bought:

And finally, for £4 from Ainsty Castings, I got this "Chinese statue", which I thought would look nice either in a village or the depths of a jungle [sorry for the rotated image - this is a little trick that tinypic.com likes to play on me occasionally...]. The plinth seems a bit ornate for "in-country" Vietnam, so I was thinking of cutting part of it off. Anyone care to venture any thoughts?

... some Slater's Plastikard pantile ["medium" = 4mm scale in rail modelling-speak, I believe] sheets

Also from Timecast at Warfare 2016, just in case I feel like trying to scratch-build some SCW scenery for the forthcoming (well, during 2017) revamp of the Bayonet & Ideology rules:

... and, for my final installment from Warfare 2016, a flock box. I'd seen one demo'd at Newbury Colours and it was very impressive.

I had thought this had been on the Warlord Games stand and, when they didn't have any in stock on the day, I ordered one, which was kindly sent post-free.

I subsequently realised that this wasn't quite what i had previously seen, which was actually the Warpainter one [doh...] from here: http://www.warpainter.net/Flockboxpages/Flockbox.html

Anyway, what I received (it included battery, glue and some grass samples) was this nicely made Pro Grass Box:

This may actually work just as well (i.e. put the flock on the metal pad; attach crocodile to base of figure / apply glue to scenery being and wave over the box to attract the flock) something like this [from the Warlord Games website]:

but I had liked the idea of being easily able to plug in my own leads, as well as running the whole thing off a mains adaptor rather than battery power).

I'll give it a go and try to post some pictures in due course.
