Me and Colin were talking, maybe later this year ? (Hopefully) Early next year ?
To have a 3 table Mega game ? Maybe do Gettysburg??? As it was in 3 sections ? This would probably be held at Entoyment.
It was just a thought, any sensible suggestions.
We only come up with Gettysburg as it is well documented and quite easy scenery to get together. As this would be done soon after we come out of this, whenever that is going to be ? Several months time ?
As we are all going to be Game Time starved !!

Hi Miles, I am up for it
With outbidding my box out I think I have 12 Union, 14 Rebel units plus about 3 cavalry and 8 guns per side

Miles. Without checking I have about 17 infantry units and 3 cavalry units for each side plus artillery.

Well at the moment it is only an idea. Basically 3 tables/games but obviously that each game/table have a common theme and the Victories would all count towards an end result. . It could be another battle ?Take a Large battle divide into 3 sections and go from there ? Any suggestions? So each table would technically be a 2corp or 3 corp game 1-2 players per side per table. Great way to have a CWB games day ?
Who is the Historian here ? Martin, John ?
It would be something to work towards ? Most of us that play CWB have enough figures to make up What is needed ?

Big Mike

Count me in Miles.
I can field 12 Union foot units, plus 4 guns and 2 cavalry units.

Hi Miles, remember we did someone similar a few years ago at the Yeovil club, can't remember the battle (Martin May have the details)but the two CinC's had their own D6/turn to move up and down the battle line to give help to the three division Generals on the three tables

Good memory Stewart.
It was .........  i will try to remember.
I think Les was there, Paul  and ???
Was it a battle from 1861 played in 2011? 150 year anniversary. Rob would remember.

Like I said, it's only a basic idea. But a battle from 1862-1863. East or West ? Both sides have a chance to win?
Didn't we do one near Ralph's place in Yeovil ? I used mainly my Scots and Irish. Anitimem.
If we go 3 tables, that's 6 people minimum? Which is an achievable number ? If more turn up we can have 2 a side ? (We can do 2 battles in a day as per normal) The only thing that would be different is the scenery would be "set up" as each section/table represents a part Of a Particular battle, with minimal changes allowed at the setup.
So it would be a normal CWB games day with the results going towards an ultimate prize for one team ?
It's just a thought, as we don't know when it will be done but at least we can plan for it ?
I ve got my Union Army, which is quite large. Big Mike Union ? Stewart Union ? Chris Union or Confederate ?
Nigel is Union ? John is Union ?
Colin is mainly Confederate. Martin can do both ? but mainly Confederate? Anyone else I might have missed?
Which battle do people fancy ? But don't make the scenery too fancy ? Something we can all make and do on the day, by putting together. It's more on the playing and having fun.
Each table would have a main objective and 2minor objectives which would all count towards the out come of the battle. So that way these would be individual tables, as per normal CWB day but it gives the day a theme and something to battle for ?
Miles

John Watson

Hi Miles,
I have equal numbers of both sides. So I can fit into either. As I said before about 17 infantry units a side, about 3 cavalry units a side and artillery.
John

John Watson

How about Chancellorsville or Chickamauga?
John

Leslie BT

Why not Forts Henry and Donelson.

Or even Farragut or Banks?

Or even the Tullahoma campaign?

I don't mind, what battle we do. Something that can go either way ? Can be spilt into 3 sections and would good without too much special scenery.
Miles

Sean Clark

I would be really interested in this

The previous battle was Bull Run. I think it was hoped to be a yearly event commemorating each anniversary year.

I think you're right. Of course next year we could start that sequence again, maybe ?
So maybe this year ??? One we all feel would be good to do.
