Facing changes?

Can wards actually change face, or are they always effectively facing the direction they start the battle? If a unit assaults or moves sideways, for example, does it end up facing that direction?

There is no facing as such.
It is assumed that the army in lined up for battle facing the other army.
Players can orientate their units any way they wish.
Once again it is assumed that a battle captain would face the enemy without needing the intervention of the overall general/player.
Assaulting or moving to the left or right needs a score of 11 to carry that out.
This means that the battle line is better at going forwards than sideways.
