I must remember to seek prior approval to any post that might cause annoyance, offence or distress.

martin goddard

I am trying to stay low for a while,(because of the offence i caused about the flu nomenclature) but thought I had better answer this one.

I am waiting for the bill for the printing  of BB.
Then I can make calculations of cost and price.

Play testers get their copies as a priority.
That is just good manners I feel.
Getting a copy of BB is not really a proper reward for all the work those chaps have done; but it does represent a real thank you from me to them.

I am very pleased that BB is on shopping lists, so thanks for that too.

I am trying not to put out much announcement about "new stuff" as it causes some gamers to react.
I have had a couple of abusive e mails (not from this group) about "how dare you trade when the country  is in such straits" etc.

This too shall pass? :)

Ha Martin, we too have had a few tense phone calls asking why as we work from home on 1-2-1 bases we won't groom their dog. They don't understand the 'stay at home rule' unless necessary.

I'm not sure any offence was caused Martin, certainly not to me! I'd prefer to have you back contributing.

Thanks
Simon

Ok warning... hoping MR admin allows a bit of a soapbox speech..

We gamers are a funny lot .... we ascribe to being in a community based hobby, yet come from so many backgrounds we all have such strong opinions... on almost everything...😀

This particular forum (speaking as a newer member here) seems to be a great community with everyone sharing so many ideas. (Well compared with TMP where everyone has a directly opposite opinion & expressing any opinion on some days can almost be a blood sport). Given things are internet based these days not much vetting you can do with yourself before you hit SEND.  Most days I like to give folks a bit of leeway as I hope they will do so for me... we all have bad days.

I have a lot of sympathy for you Martin... even on a good day, without anything like C19 floating around you are a bit of a target (trying to run a business) for every disgruntled gamer who has a bone of some sort to pick.  You do great work, many of us appreciate it.

Yes I too am waiting with almost baited breath for BB to be available (at least in PDF form). Try sitting in your hands patiently from 7500 km away...  🤔😢😱.

Martin....

Also no.offence caused. You are a valued contributor in more ways than one!

Antioch...

I do think that the emoticons help convey meaning. The written word alone often loses the intent. A fair few people here know each other in real life and in some cases have done so for years. Martin in particular I have know for around 15 years personally and he is a valued friend. Like any friend I will always defend attacks upon him and his company (not that he can't defend himself...and not relevant go this issue..but in general...)

Without knowing someone personally and without the smilies, a comment that appears to poke ridicule or attack a group is taken as written without any other context.

Anyhow, this will be my last post for a while. I'll lurk and continue to moderate but I have better things to do than engage in tit for that posts. I publicly apoligise to Leman if my reply to his post was somewhat petulant.

Ciao for now and play nice.

Noggin

Yes but is anybody actually going to tell us when that will be?

Smiley Miley 66

Well any negative comments didn't come from Us (the forum) I feel.
I think anyone working through this, is a hats off to you !!!!!!
The paint situation is a worry though. I hear that one of the manufacturers has turned its production line around for sanitziers instead of model paints.
We will get through this.
But I digress, can't wait to play the new BB at somepoint.
Well done for carrying  on, until the metal runs out at least.( now my order.lol)

Noggin.. i *think* sometime in the next few days based on some comments from Martin....but as with everything these days.... subject to change. So we wait.😇

Nick

Looking forward to seeing how the final version has ended up after the play test versions.
It's ready when it's ready as far as I'm concerned; no rush.
Plenty of other figures to paint in the mean time.
By the way, any new WotR packs planned at all Martin?

regards,
Nick

martin goddard

There will be new BB packs but those Germans are still using the production "slab".

There is however a Rob Roriston  WOTR collectable figure.  That should be out at the end of the week. So a good bit of news! :)    The  Steve Ward figure should also be out then too.   They are not forgotten and thus have priority at the top of the list.

Seems fair?

Nick

Thanks for the update Martin. Seems very fair to me.

All the posts here are fine and Martin you always get some people of over react - and thats happened in both ways with this crisis/events.

Looking foward to getting a PDF of this - again the trip over the pond for a package seems less likely these days.

Still working on my Dark Age stuff for Longships though (plus the very large amount of other stuff) so I can wait...
