Thanks Martin, that will be a big help at this stage for planning/buying.

Am I right in assuming that each quality type base has 3 figures and it is just the command base that varies depending on quality or is the 4 for household, 3 for retinue and 2 for levy carried across to all bases?

You have it right Derek. It is only the command bases that differ. Even that is an option, because you may have another way of showing quality

Sorry for another question but I can only ask as the query raises into my aged mind .....

Should Bow figures be on separate bases from fighting figures within the 4 base unit so that shooting/fighting heavy option units can be chosen or are they mixed in and the shooting/fighting strength value done as a generic value. I appreciate that for Pike units this is irrelevant.

Hi Derek , the bases are mixed, bow fire is done by the unit not base.
I use movement trays painted to show quality, (Red= household, Blue = retinue, White = levy)

Thanks Stewart. Solves some basing issues for me.

I think movement trays may well be an good option.

Roll on getting the rules now.

I got my trays from Warbases, very cheap but do the job

I plan to use DBx style bases as a half base. So, that should work out well. May need to do something interesting for the command bases.

As a question - assuming mounted units still based on 8 'part bases' is it normal to have them the same width on the table as an infantry unit?

Stewart 46A

I use 30x40mm for my cavalry, two to a base.
The units don't marry up in a fight, it's ward against ward and casualties are evened out amongst the units.

Question for mounting.. while i wait for my copy

Are hand gunners mtd 3 per base & you are allowed 3 bases? Or are they 1 per base with 3 bases allowed?

Bob,

They're actually mounted 2 per base. You can have up to 1 group of 3 bases per general.

So, you can have 0, 1, 2 or 3 groups, each of 3 bases of 2 handgunners.

Does that help?

Hi Bob,
I have mounted mine as singles on coins,
Each General is allowed 3, paid for in the army list.
