Victory in Europe. 1945.

So I propose a VE Day type PBI  gaming day at Entoyment, late March/April early May ?
Late 1944-1945 Army lists. European mainly. As someone pointed out we have VJ Day towards the end of the summer, so that opens another day and other armies that can be used.
Saturday 18th April is Salute so that's out.
Saturday 9th May is part of Bank Holiday weekend so maybe not a good one, for various reasons.
Saturday 11th April is Easter weekend, so that brings its own complications.
So any suggestions please ?

From a Personal point of view 28th March I am in London, possibly 25th April the same.

The sooner you choose a  date, the sooner  people can  plan.
There will always be folk who are not available. That cannot be avoided.

Similarly, any Bank Holiday weekends are family events here too, so gaming is unfortunately off the agenda. And no, the wife is not interested in playing Stalin (at least, not in public).

Also don't forget the post peace war. A "what if" the war carried on with Russia v the rest of the world? Could be fun/interesting.

If everyone actually reads the original mail. The Bank Holidays are mentioned as well as Salute, as dates that can't be counted....
This one will be 1944/45 listings. As it's the 75th Anniversary of 1945 this year. This one is as per book, mainly set in Europe. So anywhere East or West closing in on Germany.
Fall of the Reich, is the main theme behind this one.
As was mentioned before, Other theatres will be covered in VJ Day later in the year.
We can do post 1945/46 next year.
I have a number of tanks already built for that, like I said next year.

The Bank Holidays have been noted. Salute noted.
Any dates that can or can't be done say now......

I am going to suggest Saturday 2nd May.
That's the week (Weekend)before this years May bank Holiday. 2 weeks after Salute, gives people chance to recover from that weekend.

So that will be:  FALL OF THE REICH.
Russian and Allied Forces closing in on Germany, right through to the final Surrender. Winter of 1944/45 through to the Spring of 1945. Italy, through to the Baltic Coast.
With any German type force that was Allied to the Nazi cause just before the final collapse and surrender.
Army listings 1944 and 1945.
Any vehicles that were present on the battlefield before 8th May 1945.
Other forces and vehicles will be dealt with either later this year, or next year (1946 day)

At the moment I am hanging back on this event, because of possibility of large gatherings cancellations etc. Might defer it until the summer properly, because they say we are at less risk.
Looking at things I think it's the next month or so will be the crucial period, after that I think the risk will be less.
It will go a head, but I will be flexible on this, just in case.
So Stewart might get to come to the ball ? Lol...
