The October / November issue of Medieval Warfare magazine (Volume 9, Issue, 4) is a Wars of the Roses special.

It includes:
- a 2-page article on the English Archer
- an 8-page article on the early years of Edward IV's reign (1461-1470)
- a 10-page article on The Year of 3 Battles (1471: Barnet, Tewkesbury and London), including a centrefold spread of Barnet, batlle maps of both Barnet and Tewkesbury and a nice single-page map of England locating the Wars of the Roses battles
- a 2-pager on the pollaxe
- a full page of "further reading" on the Wars of the Roses [I note that Bloody Barons version 1 is a notable omission, as are the Freezywater publications)

Amongst other topics in this issue are:
- an 8-page article on Sybil of Jerusalem
- a 4-page article on Roman assassinations
- 8 pages on the Viking-era excavations at Myklebostad, including several photos of a reconstructed longship
- 4 pages on Alexander Nevsky

There is arguably more for the historical wargamer in this publication than in the average wargames magazine!

That sounds excellent.
How do you get your copies Simon?

Leman (Andy)

A large Smith's sells this publication (I can get it in both Liverpool and Southport), although whether they will still be carrying this edition is debatable. I will check in Liverpool on Monday. Otherwise back copies can be ordered from the publisher in the Netherlands.

Martin,

Unfortunately, unlike Dave and his goats, the only way I've found to procure these is by paying for them. They're produced by Karwansaray [https://www.karwansaraypublishers.com/].

Medieval Warfare is here: https://www.karwansaraypublishers.com/medieval-warfare

I bought a hard copy, but there's a digital version of this issue available now here: https://www.karwansaraypublishers.com/mwix-4-pdf.html

I should add that I was able to use a voucher from completing the Great Wargaming Survey 2019, which took the price down a little - another good reason for competing the survey each year!

I'm on Karwansaray's email list, and pick and choose which mags I go for. I have previously bought a now 1066 special, as well as the WSS magazine when I am interested in the main theme.
