Is there any interest in this as in having a handful of figures that could somehow be worked into rules for each range to represent myth's of the time? I am thinking of Arthur, Norse sagas, St George and the like. A plethora of characters and creatures from every time and place. Even modern conflicts have these, lost soldiers being shown back to their own lines by a colleague who on further information turned out was killed a year ago etc. It could make for an interesting twist or scenario or two not to mention some nice models?

Interesting, I would like certain myths or movie culture picked and the weird and wonderful creatures that make up the myth/movie sculpted, for example, the epic of Gilgamesh, Greek Argonauts, pride and prejudice and Zombies, BattleRoyal (movie), Vampires Vs Werewolves (Underworld movie)....etc I think you guys get the drift, what do you guys think? any takers?

Yes, good point. It can relate to samurai etc too.
The problem is that gamers will write off a range as fantasy if any non historical figures are included.

Colonel Kilgore

Is that why the Vikings with the horned helmets never appeared?

Valkyries, anyone?

Yes, I agree !
True old hoplites with bronze cuirass and not the linen armor.
May be a cyclop too :D

I've always thought a zombie game could be done using AK47 with swarms of undead appearing randomly across the table, all looking for JuJu juice.

If your going to do Zombies (fast ones) then your going to need the classic survivor types right?? do it yes yes.....

Well it looks like there is some interest in the fantasy side of things..... I'm happy about that, be it mythology or whatever

What about Robin Hood?

The opening contribution to this thread was suggesting a "handful" of packs to provide scope for one off games. Given our other requests and Martin's workload I think that should be the limit of Peter Pig involvement, if there is any involvement at all.

In this context I should like to propose a Zombie range linked to all the other PP ranges, so it would include such things as draugar for the Vikings, undead Samurai, revenant ACW figures and Voodoo-raised zombies for AK47. Of course such figures need not stay in their own "historical" period; undead Vikings could haunt a Yorkshire barrow during the English Civil War and Confederates could come to the aid of Americans in WW2.

If there is any concerns about odd packs of mythological or the like tainting a range into becoming fantasy then that is easily taken care of by not putting them in the range proper. They could be sold as a totally separate range  of there own and then maybe a book or pamphlet could be produced on how to include the figures into the historic ranges.

Does that sound like a runner?

Great Idea, Zombies go with everything pretty much........ ;D
