Sorry to see that another event has become of causality of Covid19.

With the rules chopping and changing week by week I think is the way to go.

Colonel Kilgore

Sad, but the right choice in the current circumstances, I feel.

Many thanks for your efforts in setting this up in the first place, Simon.

I think this year will be small local games rather than mass gatherings. I don't think Mass gatherings will be a new normal until the dawning of Spring next year ?
Wether this effects Beachead 2021 ? Also Salute next year ?
Personally I only had my first Wargames yesterday(Thursday) down at Entoyment, since we had PITS day in February? How Rusty was I !!!

Miles I'm still backing Stewart's show at Bovvy as the first big show of 2021. So far the only board or war game I have played since the first week end of March is one game of PSC Great War (which I lost). Having said that Wessex Wargames Society is due to re=open to members only from 19th September.

You could be right there John. I think Salute would be a possible start to the "Wargames" season, but I feel it would be on reduced numbers ? At least the Marathon wouldn't clash with it next year ? As that's not until a year October.
My new Wargames room might yet get some use over the Winter of Covid 19 ???

Glad to see some gaming going on.
Miles, what is the situation at Entoyment.
1. How many people per table. How close are the tables.
2. Masks or not
3.Down in the shop
4. Catering

Thanks

martin :)

Shame about the RCW day.
I agree with your call Simon.
This too might pass?

Such events can be re- scheduled, as the players and troops are usually "none the worse for wear" by waiting a few months?

its definitely a deferment rather than cessation.  So fingers x'd in 21 we will be back again

I'm not so optimistic about Salute 2021 it is of course currently a nightingale hospital - perhaps a move back to Kensington Town hall  famous for social isolation throughout the 1990s!

Chris

Colonel Kilgore

I had understood that the Nightingale hospital was hardly used, and effectively shut back in June.

It seems as though ExCel is due to reopen in October:

Yes Chris, Kensington would be ideal (for something?).

There is hope then lets keep or fingers crossed for a quite Covid winter and a return to the Excel centre next spring - don't miss the scrum of Kensington Towm Hall.
