Chaps, I have the Arnhem Bridge board finished but I am afraid that the figures and vehicles for both sides will only be base sprayed in brown, field grey, yellow and olive for the British and German forces.
The reason being I have broken my hand twice in the last three weeks. The worst being this weekend when the metal plate in my hand snapped, the hand is a tad sore and swollen at the moment so you can guess I am not up to or wanting to paint at the moment. My wife will drive us over and Ben will host the game on the day.

Sorry for not having it all done, but it is playable, just not as pretty as I had hoped it would be.

Ouch Dave that sounds grim.  Sympathies.

Colonel Kilgore

Really sorry to hear that, Dave - it sounds horrible.

Congratulations on your perseverance, and I look forward to seeing the fruits of your labour on the day!

Thanks guys.

Its a shame the figures and vehicles will only be blown over, but they can be finished in time for Beach Head 20. The board has come out well, got the kids busy sticking figures to bases, and fingers to fingers. Going to do the game based on Flames of War (Frosts Perimeter)scenarios and army lists, but using PBI rules - gives 4 scenarios but only doing the first 2 (Brinkmans Assault & Graebners Assault) which comes out around 14 turns. The board works out about 6x4 and divided into slightly wobbly 6 inch squares!

We need more wobbly squares: that earlier discussion fizzled out, but I'm glad it's going to be revived soon!

Dave.  Just saw this series of posts.  I too constructed a 4 by 6 table for the FOW Frosts Perimeter table when it was released.  Unfortunately my regular opponents were posted interstate before we could game it (they were providing all the Germans).  I would be very interested to here how you converted the OBs to PBI format so that I can start on the necessary painting.  Regards Alan

Hi Alan
I used the army lists from the FOW a bridge too far, then matched them to the PBI army lists, basing it on a normal platoon and adding a piat. For the Germans just a plain platoon strength. The vehicles were matched to FOW lists, and if they looked too strong took a couple off to balance. Happy to discuss in more detail, pm me.

I have the old Rapid Fire Arnhem supplement that I might look to use to convert for some PBI games.

Leslie BT

Two Fat Lardies have an Arnhem supplement coming in the next couple of months.

Sean Clark

Yes, should be easily transferable to PBI as the game is set at roughly the same level as Chain of Command.

Wardy64

Found the FOW books for Arnhem very good, the army list read across nicely. Made it easy to cross over to PBI Lists. Have extended the playing area now to 6x6 adding on the factory area, this will be used at Beachhead show. Will play this over the day with 3 scenarios, again as per the FOW campaign in 'a bridge too far'.
