Here are 10 random battles.  Can you name the two sides (roughly).   e.g Gettysburg = rebs and union. No need to say Meade and Lee etc. Rough answers are just fine. But not "those guys and some other ugly chaps".

Do not look them up on the internet, that is not so good :(. No need to be too clever with "there were two battles there"

1. 96
2. Bastogne
3. Gaugamela
4. Edgcote
5. Stirling bridge
6. Amiens
7. Bir hakem
8. Austerlitz
9. Dien Bien Phu
10. Beersheba
11. Ginnis
12. Peleliu
13. Alton
14.Crecy
15. Chalons
16. Coral sea

2 points per question (1 for each protagonist)
Thus 32 points available.

Scores
1-6= Probably does not paint his own figures :(
7-12=Can roll a 6 when needed. :)
13-17=Use acrylic paint from more than one source. ;D
18-22= owns four or more RFCM rule sets. 8)
23-27= owns a book with "wargaming " in the title. ::)
28+ =Is able to say "all i need is 10,11 or 12 on 2D6"  and then does it. :-*

PS

Don't give the answers, or it will spoil it for the others.
Just give your score.
You can cheat if you wish.

Stewart 46A

18 for me, need to do better

Leman (Andy)

11, not really arsed about post 1925.

Colonel Kilgore

20, but I might be wrong, as I've not looked up the answers :)

martin goddard

Stewart and Martin obviously copied each other :)

Of course you can just look at the outcomes and decide what score you should have gotten. Thus if you own 4 RFCM sets you can give yourself 19 surely?

Hman

20... but I only own 1 rule set...

Maybe you need to buy 3 more? I think Martin has a special offer running at the moment...

Turns out that should be 22, but would have been penalised in an exam for not reading the question properly. Never heard of some of those battles. What on earth was the battle of 96?  ???

I think it might have been a siege. Martin has forbidden us from sharing our exam questions here, but that should give you enough to Google?

#12
I'm baffled by 96 as well, otherwise feeling rather smug (and surprised) by my score. ::)

Colonel Kilgore

Try googling "The Siege of Ninety-Six".

And no, I'd never heard of it either, but apparently the right side won :)

Thanks Colonel - interesting read
