After more than 4 months of very slow progress, I've finally finished the hardware for my Late War German force. This was the first proper outing for my airbrush (for the 3-colour camouflage), which had not previously been used for anything more exciting that undercoating. The tasteful yellow background came with my mini-photobooth [https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BRK9K2R?ref_=pe_1365641_54848841], which I was tempted into buying following a recent post on this Forum. The lighting from the 2 rows of LEDs is great, but I need to work a bit more on how best to use my camera phone with it.

Anyway, first up, 3 Pak 40 anti-tank guns:

Then 3 StuG IIIs - all different Peter Pig versions:

Finally, my future force commander. Having been suitably chastised by Stewart for the lack of narrative names on my Cowboy force, I will be adding labels for all my leaders once the whole force is finished:

Now I've just got about 150 infantry to go...

An article for the Mil Simon?
Be very interested in your thoughts and experiences of using an air brush.
Cost/type/convenience/outcome/paints.....

I have a suit in that colour.

Very happy to give it a go, if a narrow view from a beginner in the topic is useful? I did read up quite a lot before taking the plunge so would be happy to share that.

Weren't the 70s great? But probably best left there. I'll try white next time....

Duncan from the Wargames magazine told me that blue is the best colour. I have no idea but seems to work. Something psychological/eye I am sure?

Colonel Kilgore

Ah - hence the PP website using blue. I should have guessed: Peter Pig leading yet again!

Thanks Martin - I'll give blue a try next time.

Leman (Andy)

Very nicely done. I particularly like the staff car with the haughty looking commander in the rear.

Colonel Kilgore

Thank you Andy.

I really like these little Piggy vehicles: you can put the heads on whichever body you want, and obviously rotate them as you see fit too, allowing for some nice customisation.

Leman (Andy)

Indeed, my WWI Russian staff car has become a Belgian staff car. The German commanders will be  riding horses, as all true junkers should!

Ha - my version of the same (lovely) model is a British staff car - my gentlemen don't want to get their feet muddy either.

Duncan's idea.  Most companies now do use the same idea. Obviously copied from PP!

Stewart 46A

Very nice Simon, look forward to seeing your complete company with names of course.

Thanks Stewart - I'll go as fast as I can, but don't hold your breath!

Great stuff Simon, will your force be ready for the November WWW games?

Martins colour system of using blue must have slipped with the Pirate rules.

Colonel Kilgore

Thanks Les.

I have been trying to get this, my first PBI company, ready for the Arnhem games. But work and life have been quite disruptive since I started last year...

I have something else in mind for November's WWW extravaganza - for which all the figures and buildings are fortunately already finished :)
