Salute was held on Saturday  at the Excel centre London.
Sales were pretty good overall. Although folk were not buying the new POE rules. Sold 3 copies. i will post some battle reports etc to increase awareness.
Rob did a great job of playing POE sea fights end to end all day. About 20 players in total.  Was good to see players getting involved and running their ships themselves. Mainly gamettes played so as to allow players to move on to other things.

The show is certainly massive . I like the amount of clear space in which folk ca stand around and "accumulate".
Not that much 15mm going on. The notables were the large 15mm Napoleonic game and a couple of WW2 battles.

Some marvellous games worthy of note are 1. Lego flash gordon game  2. A 25mm ancient Roman versus barbarian game on a big slope. Massive and impressive.
No re-enactors as groups, but plenty of people dressed for their game. saw some pirates, GW giant robots and WW2 soldiers.  Good news.
I didn't fully get round the show due to my poorly leg. :(    What I did see, made me grateful that salute is in the UK.
Plenty of chairs.  No tannoy announcements  good too).

Saw plenty of very nicely sculpted fantasy ranges of which i have never heard,  A lot of sculpting talent out there.
Th day was made better by the excellent weather on the trips both ways.

If I had been a visitor I would think the show was very good value for money.

Enjoyed the show and good to catch up with the PP crew. Bens first visit and he was a little bit in awe at the size of the show. On the way out heading to the DLR we met the sandals and tambourine brigade who obviously thought we were all warmongers, as their posters were 'no drone strikes' etc, whilst trying to give anti war leaflets out. Ben got called an arms dealer which left him with a big smile on his face, and plenty to text his mates in the evening. A good day out.

There was an arms fair on this weekend too - not the sort of antique or collectable sort of arms, more the killing people sort.

Not forgetting the knitting convention and the cake convention. (You need conventions for cake? I thought that was what cake shops were for.)

Hi Radar
Yes the Labour leader look a like, was explaining that to us when Ben asked him if he wanted to see his tanks! He didn't see the funny side.

Fat Wally

LOL....Buy that kid a bag of sweets for that one...

Leman (Andy)

Then, of course, there are those who do have a life. Would love to go to Salute one day, just to experience it. Maybe next year or the year after.

Stumped. Department of Land Reform, Depot Level Repairable, Driving Licence Record, ........ ?  :)

p.s. Had the demonstrators gone to the wrong show?  ;D

Hi Westie
Docklands Light Railway (DLR). The week leading up to it an arms fair had been held there, with over 100 protesters arrested. But I think it had gone on the Saturday, but they were still there with a band! We will overcome.

Damn! Should have got that! Been on it a good number of times. Takes you through Canary Wharf to Cutty Sark and National Maritime Museum at Greenwich.  ::)  Thanks, Wardy.    ;D
