Latest unit off the painting table - Parliament's, and Derbyshire's very own Sir John Gell's.

More pics and info about Gell and his regiment http://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/2019/01/sir-john-gells-regiment-of-foot.html

Just one more regiment to go before my self imposed deadline of Vapnartak!

Colonel Kilgore

Very nice again, Radar.

I particular like the care you always take with the scenic content.

What are you using for your background, behind the buildings and trees - is that a window on real life, or a printed backdrop?

Cheers, that's actually the view out of the back of my house. Fortunately the land behind my back garden is a SSSI (helps living in the Peak District)

My house is quite dark (old house facing west/east) so I've found I get best pics lighting wise this way unless I do fancy stuff with my big camera. Sadly the flash is away getting fixed, so my only option is phone and this set up. I like to put buildings behind, stops pics being dull tbh.

Pre-Vapnartak challenge completed!
Col. George Dodding's regiment

Colonel Kilgore

Radar,

Congratulations on completing your challenge - very admirable!

And your latest offering looks at least as good as your previous ones, so the quality is still holding up well.

I'm just getting depressed / feeling inadequate that you're cranking these all out so quickly. Maybe an article for The Mill beckons to share all your secrets?

Radar

Thanks. Secret? Simple. Not much work on at the moment. There is only so much day time telly you can watch.  Although I have just started watching 'The Flashing Blade'. Only seem to remember the first episode and the theme tune. Chock full of buckles being swashed.

Leman (Andy)

Congratulations on the completed challenge. I assume they will now be appearing at York. Wish I was able to go and see them in the flesh.

Radar

Thanks Leman. No figures are going to Vapnartak, that was just a deadline I had set myself to paint them by, and thereby justifying purchasing more figures.  8)

Any figures bought at Vapnartak have to be painted before Salute in order to qualify for new purchases there etc (As a system it seems to be working)

Leman (Andy)

That is a particularly disciplined but nevertheless effective way of getting armies completed. Unfortunately I was a caterpillar in a former life.

Two units of firelocks/commanded shot. Here's a taster (more pics of both units at https://www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk/?m=1)

Maurice's firelocks

Would you be OK to send me some of your pictures and a brief commentary  in the next couple of weeks for the 15 Mill???

Radar

I'm already working on something on dragoons for you Martin... probably ready for next but one issue

Radar

Hopefully the sun might come out as I'm off visiting battlefields (the adventures of William Waller's Southern Association). Here's the last unit to come off the painting desk until the autumn (lots of clubmen with oodles of headswaps methinks).

I give you Sir Arthur Aston's regiment of foot
