Dug out my Guards camel corp for painting.

What are the colour suggestions for painting the camels with what colour wash over?

martin goddard

I use a yellowish tan/ochre with a burnt sienna (windsor and newton)wash. However, I have seen many camels which are almost white.

Leslie BT

Ok. I have undercoated them in white and am going to apply Citadel wash Agrax Earthshade.  Gives them a light brown tone.

Not painting any detail yet as the hands are a bit shot having spent the day digging with a pickaxe and breaking concrete with a sledge hammer.

Doing manual labour Les. You should get your groundsmen to do that.

I read somewhere that the lighter coloured camels were prized as they were more docile and therefore easier to train.

Leslie BT

Just a bit of manual labour to enable the new 'fose septic' to be installed, just hoping it does not impinge on the WWW weekend.

Glad you sent that information John, most of mine are light coloured to I must have a winning force!!

If you don't get the sceptic tank done Les, there will be a loo on the ferry if you can wait?
