The British army is seeking many new recruits. Possibly planning a war against France?
Anyone here fit and healthy  enough to join the infantry?

You do get a days pay on the day you sign up too. About £73, not to be sniffed at.

I cannot join, as I am a bit worn out and don't like anyone shooting at me.

What are your reasons for not joining up for this coming war (probably on April 2nd 2019).
You are allowed to join if you were a drug addict.
Of course you may have just joined up, so well done.

I did my time in the RN but happy to enlist in a "Dads Army"

Sean Clark

I see you as the Fraser forbid particular Dads Army.... "We're doomed!"

i couldn't join because I've got too many figures to paint. If I can finish my new ACW Generals in time, I might be able to make a week next Thursday, but hopefully it'll be over by then.

Oh, I thought more as the Walker character "how many mats do you want"

A new Peninsular War perhaps? As for me, an invading British wargamers brigade would be warmly welcome (damned collaborationist)

I think a Special Needs Force  unit to cope with our ailments, allergies, etc.

Air force is where it is all at !!!

There's already a Special Needs Force in most schools.

The thinking appears to be who needs an army when you have a nuclear submarine fleet (which could end up being based in a foreign country the way things are going). The British public doesn't seem to have come across the phrase 'careful what you wish for'.

Mike Tanner

I will not be joining up even though there appears to a desire by some here to introduce conscription for such a force.

Mike it was intended to be  a light hearted comment, not a discussion upon conscription. It was your chance to vent some humour. No one suggested  the introduction of conscription. Sorry if you took it to be a real desire to introduce conscription. Just ignore this topic Mike, no offence to you was intended.

I apologize Martin, I was out of order and should never have voiced my personal grievances regarding the leadership of the modern army in this topic.

No problem Mike.   Just little toy soldiers here, no real ones.
