Painting Negro/African Native Flesh Tones

My first batch of RLI will soon be finished and I will be moving on to painting some Rhodesian African Rifles and their Zanla enemies. My question is how best to paint native African flesh tones? I purchased a pot of Vallejo Game Color Dark Fleshtone (72.044) ages ago but  am unsure if this will cut the mustard.

You fellows have a wealth of experience at painting these types of figures. How should I go about it to get best results?

I paint Vallejo Flat Brown over a Black Undercoat. No wash or highlight.

Well, each to their own. Here is what I do.
I undercoat in very dark brown, then touch nose cheeks and chin with mid-brown.

I use Vallejo chocolate brown with a highlight of beige brown, but that is for US Civil War black troops.

I use a white undercoat, Coat d'Arms "Negro", and then an Army Painter wash.

For my Zulus I used German red brown and army painter soft tone wash

I used Army Painter Leather Brown with Strong wash.
