Is it ok to say I agree with everything being said here? Another great PPWW. Miles, sorry you're not feeling good but we raised a glass of Calva in your honour on Friday night. Get well soon, we need you. The Beach Assault was a fitting game to end with, never seen so much smoke ! Thanks to all who travelled from afar to join us. Well done Stewart once again for putting it all,in place.

A couple from Saturday afternoon's ECW game:

a) a close-up of the infantry with some impressive flags:

b) and the bigger picture of the two sides squaring up:

And now some Western: a couple of shots of the Indian camp and the adjacent "very rough hills", which were the nominated defence piece.

The Indians were quite depleted by the initial losses phase, so hunkered down in the hills and managed to inflict heavy casualties on their Army aggressors through some somewhat audacious (and rather lucky) forays out from cover:

A Spanish Civil War town made up of Martin's rather fine buildings [and featuring his own custom chimney pots] with a lurking "Hippo" [not its official name, but several of us who have bought one see a resemblance] armoured car waiting to welcome those assaulting it:

Finally (from me) a nice Sudan game, in which the British camel corps were confounded in their "there and back" mission by the repeated discovery of unmapped terrain populated by sneaky and aggressive locals:

Great pictures Simon, glad you enjoyed the day.
Thanks for the comments guys but it wouldn't have happened without you and your figures.

Sean Clark

Regarding the Sudan pictures....all I can say is....God Save the Queen!

I generally had a good time at the weekend, enjoyed the games especially getting the chance to try bloody barons at long last and of course the Dark Ages battle which is always my favourite. I do think it was a little long for me though as was not too good Sunday. Still generally I enjoyed it so well done to Stewart for organising the event.

Big Mike

The Sedan game is always bad news for the British  -  teach us to try and rule the world. Simon's pics are excellent as were the figures clearly. I must play PITS more than once a year.

Thank you to all who joined in with the Weymouth RCFM gaming w/e this year.

Many of the RCFM rulesets were played and all were on offer.

Thank you Stewart for all your efforts in organising the event, sorting out with Carol at the hotel, teas and coffees and all the snacks.

Thanks to Martin for all the rulesets to play our games from and most of the figures for the games.

And thanks to all the other players who joined in, in the way the rules were intended to be played.

Thanks for all the pictures Simon.

Looking forward to next year if the hotel is still running!

Sean Clark

We will make it so!

I shall do a report of my weekend probably by the end of the week. Lots of photos to add to the mix.

I know it's months away. Do we know if 2018 Wargamming Weekend is going to go ahead ? Same venue as always ? I need to book the time off either side of the weekend if I can !

Stewart 46A

I don't contact Carole until Easter but I am looking at 23-25 Nov 2018 for the games weekend.

Colonel Kilgore

Thanks, Stewart - nice to be able to plan well in advance!

Always a great weekend. Hope it can happen in 2018 Stewart.
