With all the dangerous talk about various obscure :o WW1 figures etc. that folk would like Martin to turn his hand to, I thought it might be timely to post here the results of the recent(ish) Vietnam "wish list" poll from the old RFCM Yahoo group.

Not that this has anything at all to do with my not (yet...) doing WW1, or my current focus on trying to finish off some toys for Vietnam. Without getting into any Politics, popular votes seem to be the flavour of the month, so here goes [I've put into graphical format for convenience]:

Good shout.

Missed the original, would like to see female VC figure like in Full Metal Jacket.

Wardy,

That's a good idea - I understand that there were often female fighters within VC units, as well as female snipers as in Full Metal Jacket.

By the way, the original poll is still open [you need already to be a member of the Group to see it]:

It now includes female VC as an option  :)

If there's lots more activity there as a result of this thread, I'll post up another summary here in a week or so.

Wardy,

My pleasure  :)

I should point out that the poll falls into the "non-binding referendum" category and Martin has made no commitment that I am aware of, other than saying back in February that "Some of those are very definitely on the list".

But maybe with a little bit of gentle persuasion from the folks here...

Most of the above are very likely.  The few that are less likely are sampans,AA HMGs.  There is afair bit to be done!!

Thanks

Next week Nigel will have made the resin moulds for bunker, generic trench frontage and watch tower. these should allow  a firebase to be put together.

Colonel Kilgore

Martin,

That sounds wonderful - thank you!

And no need for the sampans now: it looks like Gomi Designs has plans to do some:

I'd not come across this company until recently, but they have quite a range of Vietnam riverine craft, as well as some Conex containers (useful for firebases?). They say they are "mid-sized" 15mm, and explicitly say that they are designed to be compatible with Peter Pig: even usefully including a link to the Piggy website from their home page.

Looking forward to the forthcoming PP firebase toys!
