Loving the new rules despite my Communists getting crushed last night by the foul Falange. One thing really perplexed us though. Why is gun movement the same from difficult terrain as other terrain? I.e. road movement still uses 4 ap. Any one able to shed any light on that?

Good question John.
4AP is tough enough to make sure guns only move one square per turn. In addition it will use most of a gun's AP for that turn.
This prevents time wasted on limbering, unlimbering and traversing. Instead it is assumed the gunnery commander gets on with the job of getting his guns into action, without the overall commander attending to the detail.

There is probably no point having different AP costs for different situations.  Because it will complicate a small aspect of the game, or cost so little that guns will become a manoeuvre unit, or so expensive that no gun will ever  afford it

Hope that gives some insight??
