Brilliant thank you John.

For me force building is a faff so having this as a reference/building point is helpful for shopping.

Good game by the way. Much fun indeed!

If it helps the lists we used last Saturday we're:-

British
3 x Average Platoons
Each of an Officer Base, Sergeant Base & 6 x Infantry Bases
4 x Scout Bases

Dervish
Veteran Camel Unit * - Leader Base & 6 x Soear
Veteran Beja Unit - Leader Base & 7 Spear Bases
Average Rifles Unit - Leader Base & 7 Rifle Bases
Poor Villager Unit - Leader Base & 3 Rifle bases & 4 Spear Bases
Poor Artillery Unit - Leader Base & 1 Krupp Gun

* should be Average or Poor but I made it Veteran for the purposes of the day.

I've found these 2 lists to be good go to lists for PITS.
However, I totally agree that working out your own forces is a big part of the fun of hobby.
I've been busy doing just that with the New Mexico Revolution rules.

Yeah that's a good start for the British but hopefully a but more info about rough number of bases.
I want to get the figures ready before I buy the rules so I can hit the patrol running.

I suppose it's the locals I'm particularly interested in.

Having had such a good time at Piggie in the North day, I am of course now eying up new rules to buy. PITS was good fun indeed so I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea roughly how many bases of each type of  British and Sudanese unit I might need?

I've a box of the Sudan British from Baccus but pondering how many bases, not figures as I can adapt that number, I'll need before I go shopping at Joy of Six or Irregular's site.

X number of gunners
X number of cannon
X number of seemingly scary veteran camels who actually achieve little when they get there
Etc

Thank you... and darn you for getting me interested in yet another rule set lol

I was wondering, is there any way we could order stuff from the Piggie site for collection at the Northern RFCM gaming day?
Just thinking a saving in postage makes for more money to spend on minis.

No worries if not, just thought to ask.

Hi Julian,

Good effort indeed!

I've had a message from a couple of hopefully attendees saying they've had no joy booking a place via the email address, I know I had that problem too.

Is there an alternative way for them to get in touch, via me or via here maybe?

Hey Martin,

As you say in the interest of a good chat thank you for the insight. It all makes sense when you lay it out like this.

The discounts you do then give out are then a nice surprise for the faithful. I certainly know when I got mine out the blue it was such a pleasant surprise I remember calling you guy up to confirm it was real lol.

I can imagine with other mini suppliers who do have sales they have customers try and pull all sorts of nonsense.

You mentioned Battle boxes, is there somewhere I can read more about them?

Also, hope you're keeping healthy. I emailed you earlier in the year when my family were on holiday in Dorset about coming to visit but you said you were still recovering from a heart attack.

All the best.

I suppose it's also how you want to run it.

I've run some gaming days which were games set up with figures and terrain for X number of players.
These then umpired by whoever wrote the scenario/provided the minis.

Players, whether they knew the rules or not, could come along and play and even if they had never played an RFCM game before they could come and give it a go.

Games were am and/or pm and players would sign up for q selection of what was on offer.

This way you can get RFCM, other gamers and normal people along for a fun day of trying a variety of RFCM games.

Hey Martin,

Please do expand, just for curiosities' sake if nothing else.

Very much understand your 'crazy' idea of giving a kick back to loyalty. Clearly I must show greater absence to the Great Piggie God, oh what a hardship I'd have to endure 😉.

Funnily enough I was going to ask about the box sets and forces collections as I was pondering about them for a number of different periods so yes, please do tell me/us more about them and when they're coming out.

All the best

Oh this does sound fun indeed.

Now to potter and have a look at B&I for the base rules.

There's no presumption that there should be but I was wondering if Piggie would be doing a January sale or similar?

I don't remember there being but thought I'd ask.

I do remember getting a discount code, I think because I spent X amount or similar, bit that was quite a while ago and I think at a random point in the year.

Anyway, Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket so thought I'd ask.

In theory keen and I'll play anything but have nothing ready.

Happy to share this with some of the other folk I know who have an interest in Piggie games.

Is anyone else on Twitter?
Too Fat Lardies have a good community on there and it was an easy way to drum up further interest and participation in a Lardy Day.

Oooo sounds fun.

That said I 100% agree with what's been said. Health comes first.

I'm right in thinking that for submissions you'll accept most things?

I played a very good solo Post Apocalyptic survival game called Vostok recently. I sometimes live tweet my games but there's no reason they couldn't be collected into an AAR, though this may take me sometime as I'm only using my phone.

These are some.of them, #1-3:

The rules are here, free and one page long. Maybe add a note encouraging people to submit their own stories?
