It's been a while since I painted some Germans in greatcoats so thought I'd go with them. Forward HQ and Comms Relay team for Battlegroup primed.

Looks like good WWII project Nigel.
Are you going to add the aerial on the back pack radio? See here for details: https://pbeyecandy.wordpress.com (https://pbeyecandy.wordpress.com)
Best wishes,
Martin Buck
Thanks for reminding us of your great work there, Martin - I remembered someone had done it but would never have found your blog again.
I have a number that similarly need the pink bristle treatment...
Simon
Simon, that's Phil Steeles blog. It's been a great resource over the years.
I don't usually add aerials but coincidentally I did see that blog post recently so may give it a go if I can find my spool of wire.

As Sean said not my work. I don't think my work has ever been described as great. ;)
Best wishes,
Martin Buck
Ah, sorry Martin (and to Phil Steele!).
Finding good references is also "great work" Martin :D
Simon
Agreed.
Martin B... We're you not part of a group that played and promoted the original AK47 around 20 or so years ago? I seem to remember a very good article in WI.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but that was great work 😁
Sean, you're right thank you, two friends from Grimsby and I did a participation game which we took to some midland shows. I also penned an article for Wargames Illustrated which was on the front cover. It was the first PP / RFCM game I played and I was very impressed with the quality of the miniatures which were my first 15mm purchases.
Best wishes,
Martin Buck
I usually use 0.45mm brass rod for my Aerials as on the example command group I posted on the QandA pages.
Miles
Gave it a go this evening. Fairly simple job in the end though did worry the 0.6mm drill bit might snap at some point.

Nigel,
What did you use for your aerial?
Simon
Simon
I think it's florist wire that I picked up from Hobbycraft some time ago. Probably this one.

EDIT. Realised I actually bought it from The Works but very similar to that in the link. One of those that will be handy someday purchases.
Nigel
Thanks for clarifying, Nigel.
I clearly need something special, after Phil's pink bristles and your silver wire!
Simon
Go raid the dust pan brush bristles mate. Sooooooooo easy to glue them on.

Go for gold then

Or champagne

In fact there's a bewildering number of options
After Paul's suggestion, I was thinking that one of these would be quite fetching?

Of course, there's always the danger that Mrs K thinks that I've suddenly decided that the house needs cleaning, and puts me to work...
Simon
Get one with black nylon bristles, then you won't have to paint it. 👍
I'll be getting some strange looks in the hardware store as I size up their brushes for plucking!

That's the next thing I've been pondering, from what I can tell they seem to have been painted grey the same as the backpack.
I have found an alternative possible solution, having popped into a model railway shop yesterday. 0.3mm nickel silver wire, for less than the price of a dustpan and brush. It may also persuade me to add flagpoles to my HI ships in due course.
