I've got all the hills, town and wood templates I need for SCW in a rather nice dried earth finish. I also got some marsh pieces in the regular brown and green flock which are the nicest ones I've seen Simon do us a load more woodland templates which can be used for ithe rthings like rough ground with some ricks and stones scattered on them.

Sounds good, looking forward to seeing the pictures.

I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. Today has consisted of 5k run at 7.30, followed by gymnastics for Ava at 9, tennis practice for her 10.30-12.30, lunch and then her golf lesson 2.30-3.30 followed by some shopping. In between which I have been answering work emails pending a HMIC visit a week on Monday. Busy busy busy!

How's the golf going for your 9 year old.

So your picking up the finer points of tennis and gymnastics.

Sean Clark

She's only 7 Les but doing well at both golf and tennis. although she l!she'd a team match in Shrewsbury today against girls a year or two older and lost all 5 sets 😕 Still proud of her as you would expect.

No sign of any interest in toy soldiers other than to want to try and paint the odd building or two.

Rules are great. Well done everyone involved.
Need to get some buildings now. What options are available out there?
I've seen mention of SHQ for buildings - anything else worth looking at?

Thanks,
Nick

Hovels are still going so I am told. There is an MDF company called Empires at War or something similar who do lovely prepainted buildings that would be suitable.

I may try to build one or two of my own using cork board and plastic sheet for the pantiles.

John in York

I like the look of those Empires at War buildings Sean. Thanks for flagging up.

The hovels are great but need chimneys and a lot of tidying up.  The excellent level of detail n the originals makes painting very easy and effective. i just base coated and then dry brushed. They look great at distances too.

Sean Clark

Aren't yours the SHQ ones Martin? The castings on the ones I have are a tad rough but nice designs. And they do need chimneys!

Leslie BT

I do think that someone used to make chimneys for these buildings.

I believe that a prominent member of this Forum sculpted and cast a bunch of chimneys to fit the SHQ buildings for his own use, and that there may even have been talk of making them available commercially at some point...?

martin goddard

I wil get a chimney mould made and make them available if that helps?

Colonel Kilgore

If you build them, the punters will come!

Just received my copy of the new rules: very nice!

I think the photos in particular are great - perhaps the best yet in an RFCM ruleset?
