Armor Transport Question;

1. How much armor do these armor transport has, do they save same as A/C with 3,4,5,6 ?

2. Some armor transport have MMG or 20mm to 30mm cannon turrets, is that possible?

3. I'm haven't use armor transport yet in a game of AK-47 third edition for being unsure on first question.
And I presumed there no turret weapon on armor transports since the rules don't discuss that.

Hi Lee (?)
Armoured transports have the same saves as light armour. This is because there are only 3 categories of protection. Armoured transports fit into the middle category of light armour.

Armoured transports with weapons can be bought as technicals. They can be gun or MG armed.  There is no allowance for an armoured transport with every ability.

Do remember that armoured transports are only available to professional foot units and at no additional charge.

AK does not go into armour detail as that would divert the game from its aim of "tactics not technical".

More questions always welcome.

A point that is important Sean. Unusual for the internet forums though.

Thanks

Just to clarify what Martin said.
With these rules the infantry units have become the main element of the game, rather than the vehicles.
Version 2 of the rules became so bogged down with vehicles and their guns and armour, the only reason the infantry were there was either to become casualties/canon fodder or actually take and keep objectives?
So we now have Technicals with MG or Gun.  Transport usually unarmored unless they are transports for Professionals? This is light Armour.
Light Armoured A/cars which can include vehicles like light tanks and APCs armed with weapons ? Again either MG or Gun. These are provided with Light Armour.
Then you have Tank which has Gun as the main armament and Heavy Armour.
So No Armour(save on 4 +),Light Armour(save on 3 +)and Tank (Heavy Armour) (save on 2 +).
But the one bonus now, any enemy infantry in a proximity square if provoked can now fire AT rockets, missiles or throw AT mines and bombs etc to try and destroy any enemy vehicles.
So vehicles can't stray too far from their supporting infantry otherwise they can suffer from close by enemy?

I agree whole heartedly with that Miles.
Good overview.

I love the simplicity of saying any foot base in proximity can shoot a tank. It takes away the fussiness of which figures are armed with what. It can be a real cat and mouse game. Tanks are great...but can get caught out.

Very much  looking forward to my next game. This is in my opinion the best version of AK47 so far. And I still really enjoy versions 1 and 2, but version 3 beats them both in my eyes.

Can't wait for version 4 using octagons and holograms 😁
