Perhaps a daft question, but I can't seem to find any limit on how many bases can be in a square at one time. Is the idea that it's unlimited, but unwise on account of the crowded penalty and the fact that only 6 bases can shoot out?

Hello Ian
Yes you can put loads of bases in a square.

An opponent would be very pleased if you do that.
A good square to pin down etc.

Not much need to make a rule to stop players being stupid. They can do it and learn from it?

At the start of the game, if I'm attacking, I'll often put a while unit in one square and charge. Especiallynif I'm using raw troops. I'll throw them at the enemy, hoping to cause casualties that they can't recover from, before hopefully using another unit to deliver the coup de grace. The original unit will then hopefully come back on as reinforcements to bolster the line.

It's my one use of anything close to tactics and doesn't always work.
