Yay, it worked! Thanks Martin, and sorry to put you to so much hassle when you have much better things to be doing....  ;)

OK, so these are all from the two games we played last week... first was Distant vs. Independents, second was Precinct vs. Creepers.

I should note here that we were using a Rapid Force Generator that Barry has worked out (all on his own, the busy chap!) - basically one D6 roll chooses between the six* different factions (Precinct, Distant, Independents, Authority, Free State and Bonkers) and then a second roll selects one of six pre-generated forces for that faction... thus we don't need to spend any time actually selecting troops, you get whatever force the rolls give you.
* The Creepers are a special seventh case, but let's not worry about that right now!

Some people may not like the additional level of randomness, but for quick playtest games it does work well as no-one is wasting time juggling around their force composition, we just get on and play with what we're given. In our first game, this did give rise to a rather interesting match-up - Barry (as the Independents) had a force with masses of Auxiliaries, just a couple of Legionaries and one lone Praetorian, while I had a force (Distant) of just FIVE Praetorians! Of course we both had some mines and blockers too.

Photo 1: Praetorian Face-Off! One of my chaps (the yellow one) under multiple attacks from Barry's single Praet plus several Aux stands, AND those flippin' turrets! The yellow spiral "energy field" thingy is one of my blockers.

Photo 2: From the second game, one of my Praetorians plus a turret try to defend an objective from hordes of Barry's little Scuttlers (Creepers)...

Photo 3: Second game again, my Legion stands (plus a stand of Aux robots) rush back to defend an objective against the Scuttler/Creepers!

Photo 4: Sneaky Scuttlers sneak through the long grass like sneaky things, creeping up on an objective defended only by a turret...

Photo 5: Back to game one, two of my Praets plus a couple of in-flight mines (the little "aero-drone" things with the colour-coded warheads).

Photo 6: Game two overview, Praetorian, mine, turrets and FAR too many Scuttler bases...! The tall rock formations are the "horror" areas. Note the red energy spirals (blockers) off-table!

Hope these are of some interest!

Jon.

Love the photos Jon. I've still not played TCR, but will correct that when I'm home using a few proxy bases I think.

Some "technical notes":

All figures and terrain painted by Barry!  ;)
"Horror" rock outcrops are old Ian Weekley urethane foam pieces; Urban terrain from the old Russian "Teknolog" plastic sets, on craft foam templates.

Figures etc: Praetorians are my "Cyclops" infantry walker suits, about 30mm tall; Legionaries are various Power Armour figures (the yellow ones are New Israeli "Golem" PA suits) based in twos; Auxiliaries are either Combat Robots (the yellow ones) or Outrim Coalition human infantry (the grey/black ones), based in threes. The "creeper" proxies are the "Crusties' Scuttler Bugs".
Little "aero-drones" on wire supports for the mines, colour-coded for ID purposes, "blockers" are pipe-cleaner spirals as "energy vortices". MDF markers indicate hits/wounds.

All good info Jon.
I expect that most gamers have about 20 or so 15mm sci fi figures about that they can use to play TCR.

Is Barry happy for me to put the campaign system he is working on into the next MILL?

Thanks.

I'm sure he's reading this (or will be soon), so I'll let him answer that!  ;D  ;D

Hi Martin,
Thanks to Jon for all the pictures and inserts and we have thoroughly enjoyed the games we have had a go at so far!
More than happy for the campaign system to go in the 15 Mil when ever you like and if you would like some extra bits I'm more than happy to send them over to you so you can have a look and use anything you like. I'll send the generator force over to you so you can see how it works just to give you an idea.
Regards
Barry

Yes please Barry. I have your campaign work and can publish that with pleasure. Do I have the final form?

Morning Martin, campaign system is the final one as no changes required so it's ready to go!
