Maybe movement should be VIETNAM type?

Maybe we could use the VIETNAM system?

Interesting idea, worth a try!

It is an interesting  mechanism.

One concern with the VIETNAM system is that a unit needs to finish its turn before the next is considered.
This might cause units to be separated. Maybe this should be a risk that cautious players can avoid by not moving far.  A good game function.
I like the system for the risk and enjoyment. A small problem can be players who forget how many D6 they have used etc.

The Vietnam movement system is a lot of fun. I can see that it might be worth trying it for new PITS.

Maybe
3,4,5,6 formation change, march in column.
4,5,6, shoot.
5,6 charge, battle line advance,

Shooting
D6 per base. Probably the usual 5,6 to hit and 6 for opportunity and return shooting.

Then  possible modifiers.
Quality, range, formation.

Jamming consideration  if a lot/intensity  of shooting done by British.

Range 2 or 3 squares(short and other) ? Artillery 6?  No spear throwing.

Facings
Only 4 for foot units.
Units can attempt face changes per enemy movement?
No facing for Cavalry and scouts.
