I watched this and thought it very informative.

My notes

1.Cannons seem to wear out quickly when in constant use.
2. The Indians are not OK with French/British rules of war.
3. Patrols into Indian held forest always seem to go wrong.
4. Life was very harsh for infantrymen. Long marches, poor medical help, poor food and harsh discipline. Where do I sign up?
5. The absolute quiet allows sounds to travel well.
6. The fort was not in a natural defensive position but in a natural trading position.
7.The British only had 1 infantryman and the Indians only 1 man who is not visible below the shoulders.

That sounds like some good research for the French Indian Wars Martin.

Vietnam MOCB would be a great starting point.

An interesting war, but not in the "grand plan" at the moment Sean

Maybe PITS would be a good basis?
No substantial  cavalry evolvement.
Patrols of British regulars, militia and Indians.
A big box of trees.
Just thoughts.

Good vid Martin.  Lots of great info there which pretty much agreed on my prior research.  Its amazing with the British being as badly led as they were they ever achieved anything.

It looks like the numerical superiority in Indians swayed the battle in the French favour.

That plus poor leadership by British officers schooled to fight a conventional European war and Munro's lack of options.

The Willian Day-Lewis film Last of the Mohicans has it pretty much right in a lot of aspects.  That plus the amazing scenery and music still leaves it as one of my fav films.

Book-marked the film for another look when the mood strikes and I get back to figuring out how to do FIW using Washington.
