Piggy chase tactics

I believe the piggy chase makes a really quick and good game starter.

If a player wants to "push through" from 0 to 36 without stopping the chance of success is 11%.
This probability gets better if a player has more than 0 of course.
If the opponent has stopped at 25 or more and you are at only 5 then the push might be worth a try.

4 or 5 rolls at a time is my normal practice. I figure if I stop short of rolling 6 times, the statistical gods will be kind to me.

Of course sometimes they play tricks on me. But once I reach 25 I'm going all the way  :)

It can be very nice to go from 7 to 36 in one step.

Not so nice to go from 35 back to 7 though.

There is the cursed thought "Just one more roll". As soon as those words enter your head you are doomed.

I actually only do 3 rolls then I stop. Even if I get to say 32 ? If I've rolled 3 times and at that the end just short, I will stop and think ? Shall I roll a 4th time ?
I prefer to finish and be a defender with 32 rather than 21 ?
