Have been catching up with the episodes and members episodes of the British History Podcast'. Edward 1 has just taken the throne. I have really enjoyed these Dark Ages episodes, about 160 so far since the withdrawal of Rome and so much detailed examination and cross references illuminating the so called Dark Ages.
Also listening to back catalogue of the Story Archaeology Podcast. This one deals more with myths and legends than actual recorded events and is done by two ladies one of whom is an archaeologist and the other is an English teacher. They principally are dealing with Irish myths/legends but there is a large dose of Celtic Welsh, English & Scottish thrown in as afternoon they are all connected.
Both of these make wonderful listening for Dark/Middle age battle tactics, showing it is not simply a case of push and shove between shield walls!

I have that one (the British History podcast) and it's good. 'The Rhine' looks to be another in a similar style you may like - although I have not really got into it yet.

Medieval and Ancient Warfare magazines have supporting podcasts now which are worth a listen too if you like that type of thing as well.

My background music (talking is out) needs to be as unobtrusive as possible. I am not a great painter and need full concentration.
