I shall be there just before ten.
We have a mix of new and veteran players but the games are still quite rapid.
A ten o'clock start will work just fine.
Do bring yourself something for lunch. I intend to bring some sandwiches from the Tesco shop.
They do have a tuck shop there for drinks and  snacks.

I will bring 3 armies too.

Thanks Martin.

I too will aim to arrive a little before opening time.

Well, that was a very enjoyable day at the Wessex club in Southampton, in a really excellent Memorial Hall.

I'd like to thank all who made me very welcome there, as well as my fellow RFCM players - Martin, Derek, John, Richard and Alan.

My first game saw Alan and me take on Richard with my Italians. I think Richard had Assault Guards.

For our second game, Alan and I took on Martin's Requetes.

Martin was very cheeky and attacked my weaker platoon with both of his, leaving Alan sitting on the other two objectives looking for someone to shoot at. Fortunately we rapidly brought on the tankettes, which proved very handy in holding off the enemy hordes.

Two fun games with a relatively simple set of rules that always seem to give enjoyable if rather bloody entertainment.

Yes it was  a good day at the club. Apart from our two tables there were ten others. Approximately 40 of us at Wessex Wargames Society, which is a vibrant club on the edge of the New Forest. Thanks to Martin for the armies and terrain and everyone else for the games.

Moggy

Yep, great games. Thanks Martin. To say thank you will shortly be buying a SCW Army!

I agree, a good day of gaming. The battles were most enjoyable and bloody.
The club was super busy. It is good to see avarety of games.

I saw
SCW (of course)
Ancients
Horse and musket
card games
Horse and musket
Fantasy
SCW again.

A good club to pop into if  a person were considering joining a  club or starting the hobby

Great to see you've got your painting mojo back, Derek!

And of course, once you have one force done, you'll want to do another one for this colourful period  :)

Simon

Moggy

You know me all too well. Can never have just one side in a period!

I'm sure Martin will be on the phone to his local Ferrari dealership first thing Monday morning  ;D

Looks good for PP.
I shall build a new army for SCW sometime. I am waiting for the Foreign Legion to be re-done.

Me too, Martin.

I've already bought the flags  :D

Simon

I think the Foreign Legion would work for Falangists as well with their short painted blue?

Moggy

That's the deed done. Republican army ordered along with some Vikings. All to help Martins retirement fund along.

You might need to write a new army list for the Nordic contingent, Derek. Or do they count as International Brigade?
