Here here to the Black Pudding.
So CK and PBI are the 2 big subjects for this year ?
Will AK 47(revamp) going to be up and running by then ?
Does anyone want to do a "Big game" of something? As we do have table space and a good chunk of a weekend to do it ? Without it being a re fight of Waterloo or something in 28mm ? On a one to one basis ?
It's better to ask the question now ?
If not as we normally do ? Small games with the options of some bigger tables adaptions ?

1. Big games are very enjoyable. A problem is that a player might find a big game going on for two sessions and thus miss out on something else. If a big game can be designed to move fast then that is good. In big games many years ago we used to cut the table into 3 or 4 slices each of which carried on at their own speed. We did it with ACW a couple of times. The end to end HI game was similar. Mike's Ardennes game worked in slices too, but was a major event in itself. Stewart did a big Western game last year which went down well. Maybe a revised version of that?   Is there a big game you fancied Miles?

2. I intend AK to be at the WWW. It will not be a finished rule set. It should be advanced enough to allow  games to be enjoyable and engaging. Play testing will have started in July?  This gives 3 months of playing before WWW.

I'd very much like to play Stewart's Western game again, if he's up for the rather large undertaking that it represents. I believe that it is in theory even bigger than what we did with the number of players we had last year.

I was just looking at possible options, now we have bigger table space, just to get the minds working ?
As you were saying Martin maybe we could have a "big game" but split it up over several tables ?
If we don't do it this year it's something to think about over the next couple of years ?
The linked table is a good game type to go with. I know people enjoyed the HI game at Entoyment last year ?
It will be nice to see the new version of AK there.
Must admit I ve got some many more bits now for the game system. Trucks, loads of Civilians types as well as military, tanks as Team Yankee has come up with loads of options for us nowadays, giving Martin more chance to sculpture his supreme infantry that others can't seem to match ! Other things from various other sources other the years.
Thinking of the fact we have been doing Beach landing games, and Italy. Maybe some PBI games based around 1944 (Italy) as there is a mixed batch of different armies and vehicles involved and tanks generally support infantry rather than dominate the table ? Which fits in with PBI more ? British and Commonwealth, Italians fighting (by then) either side ? The USA of all types, As well as all types of German infantry and tanks.
Anzio type beach landing, Mikes Airwar game as a lot of B17s and others were based in southern Italy.
These games don't need Hugh tables or massive investment in doing these.
I ve got that "Valley game" that Simon gave us for Crete and the templates could soon be adapted to do a scene from an Italian based game ?
Just a thought or two ?
Just to get people thinking over the next 6 months or so ?

My thinking
At the moment
We have 11 players staying in the hotel
Plus Saturday 6 day players of which maybe 3 attend for Friday night and Sunday

So what about
Friday 4 or 5 games 3 or 4 players each
Saturday 5 games 3 or 4 players
Sunday large game 5 or 6 players plus 1 or 2 other games 3 or 4 players each

Five games per session sounds achievable Stewart

Good job Stewart.

Sean Clark

Good plan.

I can see New AK, C&K, PBI, SCW, and probably AWI on the cards.

Plus maybe some oiratical action on land or sea along with some gamettes.

Would there be a possibility of our own little bring amd buy? I'm sure we've all got things to shift. And because we're all a trustworthy lot it wouldn't take much manpower.

martin goddard

Bring and buy fine by me.
Do bring your trench raid game Sean

martin :)

Dave Knight
