QuoteThe residual and 1 in 3 HE is strictly PBI.
SB works very differently.

Might I suggest this thread be split and put on the PBI board ? Rather than here

Not a problem. Good idea Simon.

I will almost always use HE because it is usually accompanied by an asset number (of dice) that I think I have a good chance of getting. i.e. I think I will usually carry out at least one successful stonk. I would only consider dropping it if I thought it was likely to fail. I think my cut off number of dice would be less than 6. If I have 6 dice it is likely one of them will be successful if I roll all of them in one turn.

I like the residual die for assets in PBI20. It adds excitement and creates uncertainty for the player. In my test games the residual has been tried across a range of assets, although tbh HE is favoured.
So the 1 in 3reduction in dice for HE and the x2 count against victory points seem a good counter to that.
Certainly my opponent and I do still choose HE most times although have found Smoke tempting.

I have carried out extensive research amd tested this theory to its limit and can report that with 6 dice there is only a 50:50 chance I'll achieve a 6. That's probability for you 😅
