Hi,

Pierre and I had a game tyesterday : we used the 1997 version of Square Bashing to play a Spanish civil war scenario. This was my first time with this "old" SB system : we had a great fun as the game was fluid, full of interesting situations.

After a fierce battle, victory went for the Nationalists (bravo Pierre !)...  ;)

Here are some pictures of the battle. Marxists were attacking.

Hi

Thanks a lot Xavier for these truly fantastic pictures...

The rules played were "Cuadro Golpeando", à Scw variant of Square Bashing penned by Martin Rapier.

We enjoyed a great time, and I still think that the 1997 first edition of SB was a great and innovative set of rules.

Wonderful as ever chaps.

I played Cuadro Galpeando (sorry for the spelling) years ago and in fact ran it as a participation game at Fisticuffs when it was a 2 day show in a local school. Probably 1998 or 1999. I think the original Conquerors and Kings had just come out, or maybe it was Lincolns War. Whichever it was Martin was running a game of it!

As well as the rules, Martin Rapier designed a scenario  I think called the Corunna Road. I still have my old copy of 1st edition so may now dust it off for a game!

Fantastic game Xavier and Pierre.
SCW is agret period to game.
The armoured trucks always dd that special flavour to the game.
Thank you for using the PP range!

Agree; always a pleasure to view these games. Lots of inspiration for basing and scenic items as well.
