Sounds good.

Miles do you have a DAK force?

martin :)

No only 8th Army and European British. Tank wise I have quite a few different types. Until I get my close work glasses right I am not painting up infantry. I can't see what I am doing when it comes to straps and belts. The DAK have a lot of them !

So are these discussions about the Company options on page 8 of the army book or has this now been torn up?

To me PBI was an infantry game and the limitations on armies in the army book worked very well.

It looks like page 15 of the revised rules is going to make the army book need to be revised as well!

It does need to be revised. PBI is still and infantry game with Supports ? That can be MMG, Mortars, Towed Guns (A/T or Howitzer) and wheeled or Tracked vehicles or specialised infantry platoons or a combination, depending on what you need ?
Martin wants to try out some of the extreme weapon types to see how powerful or not they are now in a game. So I can bring out my engineer vehicles.

Good notes. Thank you.

Page 15 limits the number of items rather than the details of each item.
It has indeed changed (a little) from the previous edition. That is all part of a new dawn(?)

Miles is right. I do want to limit the extreme weapon types.

I am seeking the three platoon, 3 tanks, 1 support unit combination to be the most common force deployed by players. If players want to use something unusual then that is fine, but it should be risky in both directions. ie it might work really well or really badly. It must not just be "better".
Otherwise the whole architect becomes a bit pointless. Just use the "better" companies if you want to win.

One of my aims is to stop odd force types from being dominant. I believe some others will share this target others will not. I am going to please the former and annoy the latter. Not a problem.

The company architect.
The US edition will need the words "faction", "mechanic" and "bathtub " inserting? :)

At the moment the plan (?) with the architect is as follows.

1. Update the architect in line with PBI 2020.
Updates include
a.What transports are allowed for which companies.
b. Non conformist companies
c.Point costs
d.Some other  stuff will happen I am sure.

2. The architect will become pdf initially.
3. Include Miles' scenery generator?
4. A linked game (pseudo campaign) system.

martin ???

John Watson

Hopefully the revised CoArch will remove some of the errors and omissions. It would be nice to see the super Pershing included in the rare section, even if only one saw active service. That puts it on a par with (or even ahead of ) the Maus.

Yes John that one has to go in.
Hopefully soon I can go down and talk to Martin about different scenery templates etc, while I am on Holiday. Also get a game in ?
