attached is the terrain placement and objective placement system we use, its randomised by dice to stop the always deploying objectives in the same way. and terrain is randomised. - see attachment. - its designed to conform to the terrain rules and objective spacing.

DUG-IN. most troops if they have any sense dig-in as soon as they stop somewhere. so the defenders would normally be dig-in for any sort of defensive game.
a simple rule we use is the defender roles 1d6 (+1vet, -1raw) and thats the number of dug-in squares he has.
Dug-in for foot or guns counts closed cover for shooting. but gives no other advantage.
